During the “The Iliad and The Odyssey” workshop, I read Margaret Atwood’s The Penelopiad, and selected her play for seniors to read aloud, write about, and perform. Students will read, annotate, select a scene, and compose and record a testimonial video from the perspective of a character. The goal of this project is for students to consider how this palimpsest echoes, how to assume a persona, and to consider how gender/gender identities play into a scene.
