This curriculum module is designed for a Sheltered English (ELA) class. It integrates the 10th Grade ELA standards with an interdisciplinary focus on environmental history. The module’s central objective is to analyze the dangers of systematic societal denial and willful ignorance, drawing a direct comparison between the theme of mental pollution in Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 and the reality of physical pollution in the historical Greater Philadelphia area
