2021 Fall Program Launch August 30, 2021 – Posted in: Uncategorized
On Tuesday, September 14th, the Teachers Institute of Philadelphia will launch its Fall Curriculum Lab with an orientation reception at 4:30pm. As in the spring program participants (called fellows) will engage in content-based professional development over the course of a semester, but with more flexible scheduling. Fellows will acquire cutting-edge knowledge from university professors and write original curriculum units based on the material they have learned. They will develop creative ways to teach material required by District, state and national curriculum standards, improving results in the classroom. Upon successful completion of the program, fellows earn 20 Act 48 credits and a $1,000 stipend. The three seminars offered this semester are:
Topics in Environmental Health led by Prof. Marilyn Howarth
How Critical Elements Make Up our Modern World led by Prof. Eric Schelter
Southwest Native American Art & Culture led by Lucy Fowler Williams
