TIP Showcases USA 250 Workshops, Student Work September 29, 2025 – Posted in: Uncategorized
This fall, TIP is collaborating with the Penn Press and Penn GSE to offer a special set of workshops on Philadelphia History in preparation for the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. These workshops will be led by authors of the Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia, a resource the Penn Press is distributing free to schools in the School District of Philadelphia.
Together with its partners Penn Press and Penn GSE, TIP held a showcase for the workshops on September 18th, 2025. The showcase featured presentations from each of the workshop leaders, as well as School District of Philadelphia teachers, TIP Fellows, and their students.
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to learn about work teachers have done in previous TIP programs. Teachers who participate in TIP learn new material from university scholars and put that material into curriculum units and modules that they bring to their classroom. Two students—Saw Thdar from Francis Scott Key School and Phil Schley from Hill-Freedman World Academy—presented projects done based on curricula developed by TIP teachers.
