2020 National Fellows Selected April 20, 2020 – Posted in: Uncategorized
TIP Fellows Alex de Arana, Cristobal Carambo, Rachel Odoroff, and Lisa Yau have been chosen to participate in national seminars hosted by the Yale National Initiative to strengthen teaching in public schools. The summer intensive program provides public school teachers deeper knowledge of the subjects they teach and an opportunity to learn from internationally renowned faculty members and colleagues around the nation.
- Alex de Arana will attend Politics and Public Policy in the United States led by Professor Ian Shapiro. Alex currently teaches 11th and 12th grade social studies at Bodine High School.
- Cristobal Carambo is enrolled in Solving Environmental Problems through Engineering led by Professor Jordan Peccia. Cristobal will also serve as the seminar’s coordinator this year. He teaches 10th and 11 grade chemistry at Philadelphia High School for Girls.
- Rachel Odoroff is also enrolled in Solving Environmental Problems through Engineering led by Professor Jordan Peccia. She is an 8th grade math and science teacher at Henry C. Lea school
- Lisa Yau is enrolled in David Engerman’s seminar American History through American Lives. She teaches 4th grade students at Francis Scott Key school.
