TIP’s Fall 2026 Workshops Cover Topics Relevant to the City, the Nation, and the World September 17, 2026

This fall’s TIP workshops deal with issues of importance in a rapidly changing world. How do we get from here to there in an increasingly crowded urban space? How do we talk to each other when we disagree? How do we detect bias in the ever-expanding cyber universe? How do migrant communities become part of a new nation?

The courses will be led by content experts from the University of Pennsylvania. Teachers who enroll explore one of these topics in a four-week format that culminates in the writing of a curriculum module to bring the new material into their classroom. Those who complete the program earn a $400 stipend and 8 Act 48 credits.

• Where Bias Enters the Machine: An Introduction to Race and Gender in AI

• Asian American Neighborhoods in Philadelphia
  Domenic Vitiello and Mary Yee, Weitzman School of Design
