2024 Spring Enrollment: Asian Meditation Traditions, Past and Present
Katherine Steiner is currently a special education teacher, with a focus in math intervention, at The Academy at Palumbo. She has 12 years of teaching experience and has been teaching in the School District of Philadelphia for 7 years.
Steiner joined TIP 7 years ago to improve her teaching skills and to take control over what and how she taught her students. Steiner initially started teaching art in the School District. Since there is no set curriculum for art, she joined TIP to get help on the university level and from her colleagues to develop engaging curriculum units for her students.
Steiner is currently enrolled in the “Asian Meditation Traditions, Past and Present” seminar with Dr. Deven Patel. She has loved practicing meditation in every class and learning about the earliest origins of meditation. She has also found the guest speakers, who are often current practitioners of different faiths, to be very insightful. Steiner is grateful to learn many valuable lessons from this seminar to bring not only to her classroom, but to her own practice in mindfulness and meditation.
