Superintendent Watlington Joins TIP Team at Yale November 8, 2023 – Posted in: Uncategorized

The Nineteenth Annual Conference of TIP’s parent program, the Yale National Initiative, was held on November 3-4, 2023. Since 2004, Yale has hosted this conference for schools and university colleagues from around the United States to collaborate and disseminate the Teachers Institute Approach. During the conference, National Fellows had the opportunity to present curriculum units they prepared during the intensive sessions a Yale University.

Attendees representing TIP this year included National Fellows Lisa Yau, Tyriese Holloway, Anna Herman, Chloe Glynn, as well as school Superintendent Tony Watlington, Penn Professor Deven Patel, and TIP Director Edward Epstein.

While at the conference, fellows and their students gave presentations on work that was done using their curriculum units. These presentations showcased innovative ways to deliver new content in the classroom, motivating students and teachers to do their best.

Yale University professors who will be leading the 2024 national seminars also gave presentations on their seminar topics, giving fellows a preview on next year’s program.

Superintendents and other school leaders from around the country discussed the collaboration between their district and local teachers institutes to boost the quality of teaching.
